Lauch Queer City Map

Dec 6, 2023

QUS wil launch a Queer City Map on December 8 at 11 a.m. on Domplein (Cathedral Square). The map contains a walk through the rainbow history in Utrecht’s city centre. Robbert Kalff (Utrecht Pride) and Joost de Vries (Queer Film Festival Utrecht) receive the first copies. They won the Annie Brouwer-Korf Prize, the urban LGBTIQ+ prize. The Queer City Map is available for free at the Savannah Bay bookstore, Telingstraat 6, Utrecht and at Winkel van Utrecht / VVV (Utrecht Shop) on Domplein 9 (Cathedral Square).
When folded, the Queer City Map fits in a pocket and when unfolded it is a map of the city center of Utrecht with a walk along 18 places from the city’s queer history. QR codes on the map lead to the stories of these places, in both Dutch and English. The walk starts on the Domplein at the memorial stone for the 18th century sodomite persecution and ends at queer cafés Kalff and Bodytalk on the Oudegracht. With this map, the QUS team hopes to interest even more people in the rich rainbow history of our city.
