Maurice van Lieshout added a special story to Utrecht’s Rainbow Canon about a gay novel from 1963. In this so-called ‘realistic novel’ Men who are ‘different’, the author describes the sixties setting of Utrecht to make the story as realistic as possible.
In addition to the now famous gay literature from the second half of the previous century, many straight-from-life novels about gay men were also published.
